Scotland’s biggest transport infrastructure project in a generation, the Queensferry Crossing and upgrading of the connecting road network on both sides of the Firth of Forth, is on track to be completed in 2016. This road bridge is being built alongside the existing Forth Road Bridge and will carry the M90 motorway across the Firth of Forth between Lothian, at South Queensferry, and Fife, at North Queensferry.
Since early 2015, our team have been working on various high level locations associated with the Southern Approach of the New Forth Crossing Bridge; where our technicians have been assisting with crane rigging operations.
The scope of work involves the technicians being lifted to the top of the tower in man-riding basket. They then install a rope access system allowing access to the deck level below and also to allow them to move along the top of the tower to install rigging equipment for the crane lift. Once the rigging is installed, our operatives descend to deck level, after which crane operations can commence.
